Putting the Change in Business
June 20th, 2009 | Published in Change
Here we are in a day and age of upheaval and chaos in our lives and businesses. And it couldn’t be a better time to fix what’s wrong with your business. It’s time to get it right–and back on the right track.
If your business isn’t in alignment with the growing awareness and values of society, you will be left in the dust as other businesses move to get in alignment with a new worlds’ values.
Look at our car companies and our financial institutions. They thought they could go along and do as they please, serving only their own interests and the interests of their richest friends and backers. General Motors and the others kept building giant gas-sucking cars with a blind-eye towards the ever approaching future of decreasing resources and soaring gas prices.
Our financial insitutions and their so-called leaders raped the public–and caused financial destruction to millions of trusting folks –while sending the economy into a tail spin.
Insurance companies are now fighting for their financial lives. Up until now they have denied claims, raped the public with high fees and terrible customer service. Only when they discover that the public has had it and that Congress is fighting to offer people a better public heath option do they try to tell us they will now be better citizens–and be more honest and compassionate.
Hopefully they will be put out of business when the public can buy a better policy with better care for less money. They deserve it. Any business that does not play by the rules until they are forced to does not deserve to thrive in our new and evolving economy and world. They have dug their own grave–and no one should feel bad about losing them if they do not become real value to their customers. They have cooked their own soup.
Out of the chaos will emerge better businesses and better stewards of businesses.
Take a look at your own business now. Ask yourself these questions:
- How do I treat my employees?
- How do I value my customers?
- How do I treat the environment with the way I handle waste and energy usage?
- How am I contributing to a better world with my products or services?
- What is the level consciousness of the leaders in my business–including myself?
- How am I able to adapt to the change needed to thrive in the next ten years?
- What changes can I make now to become a better business?
I teach business owners and managers on all of the above. Become all you can be–and in that, your business will rise naturally and organically—enjoying true success.
