This is the very short version of how a series of mystical events launched me into my vocation as “the Change Teacher.” There isn’t enough room here for the entirety of profound guidance that came rushing in from “out of the blue,” or to tell you about all of the changes that prepared me to finally step into this calling that had been patiently calling me. The changes have been both inner and outer-with most all of them starting with the inner work. However, a significant few started with outer changes that seemed to come from events that were out of my control, but which actually served as catalysts to drive me inward, where I would find my answers and peace-and change.
I didn’t choose to call myself “the Change Teacher.” It chose me. I have always shied away from giving myself a title. I came to realize that I could no longer avoid who I was meant to be, and that I must move into the Life that was seeking to Live as me. The ramp-up in clarity started a few years ago while sitting in my garage. I was tired from unpacking from my most recent move and I heard clearly in my mind and from “out of the blue,” ” Patty-you are a teacher and a healer-this you must do.” This same guiding presence has been with me since then.
This event both followed and preceded a spiritual journey that has been filled with very specific messages and other guidance reminding me that I was a Lightworker and a Change-agent. I received these directions, directives, inspirations and guidance during meditation, journaling, contemplation-and sometimes, just out of the blue, while driving, shopping, watching TV and more. Many of these messages have come from I what I call my Inner Self, or Higher Self-the self that is connected to the Divine, the Universe, the I Am, the All That Is. It’s a distinct “Voice.”
As I opened up and became more receptive and less concerned about what others might think-the messages began to flow from a variety of teachers, spirit guides and yes, even angels. In addition to these very solid experiences of connecting with these spiritual messengers, I have had several powerful mystical experiences of Love and Light and Being that have served my awakening. And it hasn’t stopped since. I don’t expect it to.
It has taken very focused and dedicated inner work to let go of my preconceived and well-entrenched ideas about who I was [what I had learned to believe about myself, my abilities, talents, limitations, etc] and to accept and embrace what was happening in and through me. After all-I was a marketing consultant and emerging writer-or at least that was the box I had been in.
How did that happen? How did I step into the Life that wanted to live as me?
I said, “Yes! ” to the change that needed to happen in me and through me. And that has made all the difference.
